Normally main-transformers arenīt as difficult to wind as audio output-transformers. They are only designed for mains frequencies of 50 or 60 cps. All shown main-transformers on the following sites are tested with an applied voltage of 3 kV between the primary and the secundary winding. The most important thing of a main-transformer is his overtemperature. The overtemperature is the temperature a main-transformer will get under load conditions. As example, if a main-transformer is heating up to 50 degrees Celsius and the ambient temperaure is 20 degrees Celsius , his overtemperature is 30 degrees Celsius. The overtemperature is depending of the choosed induction together with the used core material. High inductions up to the saturation of the core material will give high overtemperatures and a wide leakage field. Especially our main-transformers for audio- und HiFi-applications are designed for low overtemperatures of 20 degrees Celsius, which will give narrow leakage fields. You are thinking, that the main-transformer of your tube amplifier is getting too hot? Here you can find the formulas for calculating it. Special designs with mu-metal shielding are available on demand. For further queations just contact us under info@shinrock.com. |
